Created to promote and reward professionals of the equipment industry, the Grands Prix du Matériels, initiated by Chantiers de France in partnership with DLR, allows manufacturers to be recognized and awarded for their expertise and ability to innovate.
On Friday, March 31, the jurors made their decision: five awards were given to reward innovation in the equipment industry. Thirty applications were submitted this year. The winners’ list was unveiled on Friday, March 31 at the end of the DLR congress in Lyon. In the Services category, the award was decerned to Haulotte for its program Restart by Haulotte.
Restart by Haulotte awarded in the "Service" category
The RESTART by Haulotte program was designed to meet the growing demand for reconditioned Haulotte-branded aerial work platforms.
Our offer is positioned between the traditional used market, where aerial work platforms are sold as-is without warranty, and the new equipment market. This new model allows us to offer quality reconditioned equipment, available immediately at a reasonable price. At the same time, it helps us reduce our environmental impact
Ludovic Jankov, Haulotte’s second-hand manager
The jury appreciated and considered that the Restart Center was "a response to a critical need: the reconditioning of personnel lifting equipment, at a competitive price, certified and guaranteed by the manufacturer. […]
To offer this alternative to the sale of new aerial work platforms, Haulotte has set up an industrial process, trained staff and invested in specific tools. By converting a factory, the manufacturer is meeting the challenges of sustainable development. It is reducing the carbon impact of its activities and paving the way for a new, more ecological approach, which the jury appreciated."
A real alternative to buying a new aerial work platform
Ludovic Jankov, Second Hand Manager, and Emmanuel Chabaneix, Director of the Restart Center, welcomed this award with joy and pride, and thanked all of the teams who have been involved since the beginning of this new activity "This is a new step for the progress of the Restart Center and it highlight our engagement regarding the reduction of our environmental impact."
The RESTART by Haulotte program is a real alternative to buying a new aerial work platform. From articulated boom lifts to telescopic boom lifts, including vertical masts and scissor lifts**, this reconditioning program is deployed throughout Europe.***
After a year existence, the Restart Center offer keep growing thanks to more partnerships that allow the trade-in of many machines:
We now have more insight into the business, and we can better target buoyant MEWPs. We are currently recovering equipment relevant to the Restart Center in
collaboration with our German, British and French subsidiaries

Circular economy: a promising future for industry
A few weeks ago, the Haulotte Community blog team interviewed Gregory Richa, director of OPEO, a consulting firm specializing in industrial change and transformation, for an article about the circular economy.
The lockdowns in 2020, the blocking of the Suez Canal in 2021, and then the war in Ukraine in February 2022 have brought the global economy to a standstill. The price of raw materials has skyrocketed, and all supply chains have been affected by supply and transport problems. These events have highlighted the limits of globalization. Manufacturers were also confronted with longer lead times to market new products, which in turn increased the value of the second-hand market.
